Bowie.

Bowie

It’s all been said.

He was a genius. A real genius.

He didn’t just break the rules, he ignored them.

He refused to stand still.

He stayed relevant.

He turned death into performance art.

There will never be another David Bowie.

Yesterday was hard. It felt like an entire day spent in an out-of-body haze.

I was on a train to London when the news landed. My immediate reaction was to select “Heroes” on my iPhone. I managed to hold back the tears – mainly from fear of embarrassment. When the 1979 re-recording of ‘Space Oddity’ came on, I wasn’t so lucky.

David, thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your journey home.

The stars will always look very different.
